The New Noctua GPU at Computex 2025: Love It or Leave It?

We're at Computex 2025, going through the tour of the ASUS booth—and today we're reviewing something that's already creating split opinion around the show floor: the new Noctua RTX 5080 graphics card.

This GPU monster is receiving a lot of hype, and rightly so. It's enormous, with three 120mm Noctua fans taking over its aesthetic. If you're familiar with Noctua, you can guess what that entails: top-shelf cooling performance. and that telltale brown-and-beige color scheme.

We've heard it from other people, and we concur—the card is no laughing matter when it comes to size. It's a serious piece of hardware. And although the cooling capacity will probably be class-leading (Noctua seldom fails in that regard), there's a single key sticking point: design aesthetics.

Let's face it—Noctua fans are the legend when it comes to performance, but the color scheme? Not so easy to match in most setups. Whether you're going for pristine white, ghostly black, or even rainbow-themed build, those brownish undertones can mess up the whole look. It is the same issue we've had with Noctua air coolers: amazing performance, hard to look at.

All that being said, there is one situation we think could work just fine: a natural wood and black trimmed Fractal Design case. In that configuration, the Noctua fans might just feel right at home.

Then again, there's always the perfect solution—a Noctua-themed case. Imagine a case designed to match the fans, where the brown is not an afterthought but a design choice. That would be interesting.

So, where do you put yourself? Performance ahead of style or style before substance? Whatever it is, there is little doubt that ASUS and Noctua have made it with this GPU.
