Massive Ripple Scam Alert: Impersonator YouTube Channel Bilkings XRP Holders

There's a massive XRP scam circulating—and it's oddly convincing.

Earlier this morning, a fake YouTube channel posing as Ripple's official channel started streaming a fake giveaway, announcing they would double whatever XRP you send to a displayed QR code until they've seemingly "given away 100 million XRP."

Here's the key thing to know: this is absolutely a scam.

How They're Conning People
The fraud is being committed from a YouTube channel that has over 118,000 subscribers, giving it a veneer of legitimacy. To put that in perspective, Ripple's own real official YouTube channel now has around 78,000 subscribers.

But worse yet, the comments section on the livestream are clogged with what seem to be real individuals leaving comments such as:

"OMG it worked! My XRP doubled!"

But dig a little deeper and you’ll see the cracks. Click on the commenters’ profiles, and you’ll find identical activity graphs and suspiciously generic-looking profiles—clear signs that they're fake or bot-generated.

To make things even more confusing, even the fake Ripple channel has the exact same engagement graph. It's a copy-and-paste scam disguised in plain sight.

Why It’s So Dangerous
This is not just a sneaky scam—it's upscale. They're duplicating Ripple branding, streaming on high-follow YouTube channels, and creating a fictitious perception of community support with fabricated comments.

Even the tech-savvy might be deceived. A relative was ambushed by the scam after stumbling upon the fake stream and almost getting caught up in it.

What You Need to Do
Don't pay XRP (or any cryptocurrency) to mysterious QR codes or wallet addresses—especially not those with "double your money" promises.

Verify official sources. Ripple's authentic online presence can be verified through their website or verified social profiles.

Report the scam YouTube account if you happen to come across it.

Notify your friends and family, especially if they have XRP or see crypto giveaways on the internet.

The internet is a great place—but a dangerous one, too. Be careful, stay alert, and never think a crypto giveaway, no matter how real it looks.
