1. LHR GPUs unlocked
ETH mining has been a pain in gamers’ lower regions for a while now, just adding fuel to the already dire state of GPUs, well now there seems to be a software that can even take the LHR limit off some 30 series GPUs. I’m not sure if this is a very good time for miners right now though as ETH mining is soon to go over to the Proof of Stake network, which will make mining ETH basically useless. The software will basically replace your existing BIOS with a new BIOS, so presumably, you won’t be able to game with the mentioned BIOS. It’s worth mentioning that the software hasn’t been released or tested yet, but the author claimed huge hash rate gains though, like the 3060Ti LHR edition getting over 60 MH/S where currently it gets about 45MH/s.
2. Intel ARC GPUs tiers
Recently we have covered the Intel ARC GPUs a lot, and we now have some more news on them, as we have learned about the 3 tiers they are going to come in namely the A300/A500/A700 performance tiers. The A300 such as A380 we had in the news a while back, will all use the DG2-128 GPU, which is the entry-level unit. On the other hand, the A500 and A700 series will use the DG2-512 GPU which will be on the level of NVIDIA and AMDs mid and upper-level cards. The A500 series will have at least 3072 FP32 shaders and up 12GB of GDDR6 memory. While the A700 series will have a 4096 shaders as well as 16GB of memory.

3. PlayStation VR2
VR gaming has died down a little bit in the last year or so with not a lot of news from them. Well, now Sony has unveiled their new PlayStation VR2 headset. PlayStation SVP said that they focused a lot on ergonomics and the feedback from testers has been positive so far. Additionally, there’s a new lens adjustment dial to help you get the perfect eye comfort level, as well as better ventilation to improve airflow. The new unit will also have a single cord set up which should make setup a little easier than with the original PSVR. The design aspect of both headset and controller are designed to represent the 360-degree view of the virtual world. The look and feel were also aimed to match PlayStation 5’s overall design.

4. Intel 15th Gen to take on Apple
In last time’s news, we covered the new Apple range that’s going to come out featuring the new M2 chip. Well, it seems like Intel is going to counter them with the 15th Gen CPUs. It seems like Arrow lake will be focused more on mobile devices than desktops. But we are only looking at a late 2023 to early 2024 launch for them, so Apple will probably have something new by then. Arrow Lake-P CPUs will be using 6+8+3 configurations. That’s a 6P-Cores and 8E-Cores, but the iGPU is going to be a completely new tiled architecture, that will be based upon the Battlemage graphics architecture and feature up to 320 Execution Units or 20 Xe-Cores.
5. Bethesda scraps launcher
So I did not know that Bethesda had their own game launcher and it seems that I wasn’t the only one as they have now said that they are scrapping it and moving over to steam completely. The launcher is being retired in May 2022 and in April gamers will be able to migrate all your data to steam, this includes your saved progress and any Bethesda.net wallet currencies like Fallout 76 Atoms, ESO drakes, and any money associated with your account.
6. $250 000 Lamo exploded for NFTs
People are now exploding Lamborghini’s to create NFTs. The artist pseudonym Shl0ms purchased a second-hand Lambo Hurracan for just under $250 000 and exploded on the 2nd of February, to create 999 NFTs. Apparently, it’s done to protest Crypto, which doesn’t really make sense cause as far as I know NFTs are built of the same technology as crypto? As Shl0ms stated, “the Lambo is a pretty potent representation of people simply engaging with crypto because it’s a way for them to make money off other people as quickly as possible.” which is strange cause he got funding to buy the Lambo from other people in the first place, just to blow up and make money from it selling it as NFTs.
7. 2K meets LEGO
LEGO games, you either hate them or you love them, there is a magnitude of LEGO games from superheroes to Star Wars, we have even seen LEGO in Forza Horizon before. Now 2K the sports brand, has apparently entered into a multi-game contract with LEGO for 3 games. These are rumored to be a football/soccer game that will launch later this year, the title is set for release sometime in 2023. Also there will be an open-world racing game. No word yet on the third title only that it will be a major sporting brand, so maybe NBA or WWE or something.
8. Apple slammed with €25 million fines
Apple is getting slapped hard in the Netherlands for not allowing third-party app payments through their app store. For the 5th time in a number of weeks, Apple has been fined €5 million for not complying with the Authority for Consumers and Markets or in short ACM. That totals €25 million in fines for Apple. Apple has technically complied but they want app operators to release entirely new apps to use new payment methods. This will still allow Apple to take a 27% cut instead of the 30% cut. ACM can fine Apple at a maximum of €50 Million per week if they want to.

9. Tesla wants you to play Steam games
The Steameck is a huge deal right now for mobile PC gamers, well Tesla wants you to be able to play Steam games in your Tesla too. The Tesla infotainment system is powered by the AMD Navi-23 that has 10 TFLOPS of power. Well I don’t know how that will work cause to me it sounds like a recipe for a crash, imagine jamming some Apex or something while on a cruise to work and getting in an accident, how do you explain that to your boss.
