ASUS Wows Computex 2025 with the ROG XG Station 3

Computex 2025 has been full of jaw-dropping technology, but one of the ASUS stand's standout products really stole the show: the ROG XG Station 3. We caught up with Adam from PC World, who was easily excited about what might be the coolest external GPU enclosure we've ever laid eyes on.

"The thing that actually left me gasping at the ASUS demo was this," Adam said. "The ROG XG Station 3."

To the outside world, eGPUs (external graphics processing units) allow users—most notably laptop or small form PC owners—to dramatically upgrade their graphics capabilities with a standalone GPU module. And to enthusiasts like Adam, they're not performance enhancers—collectibles.

“I’m a nerd when it comes to eGPUs,” he admitted. “I gotta have all of them. This one’s like a Pokémon collector’s dream.”

So what makes the ROG XG Station 3 stand out? It boasts Thunderbolt 5, the future-proof speed and connectivity. It also features BTF (Back-To-the-Future) support—ASUS's new cable-free standard for minimalist PC builds. It features bring-your-own SFX power supply design, offering users the freedom to personalize the power delivery based on their GPU and setup needs.

Design-wise, the enclosure doesn’t disappoint. With its sleek ROG aesthetics, it’s as much a statement piece as it is a powerhouse.

“I’d literally just put this on my desk because it looks cool,” Adam said. “It’s so nice. Such a nice mix of design and functionality.”

Though the ROG XG Station 3 is yet a prototype, ASUS teased us with the possibility of it making its way later this year. No concrete release date has been announced yet, but hopes are high.

Whether you’re a performance chaser, a design lover, or an eGPU enthusiast, the ROG XG Station 3 looks like one to watch. ASUS clearly brought their A-game to Computex 2025—and this might just be the highlight of the show.
