A Closer Look at the Finish

Whereas the finished version does have a clear coat to protect and provide a glossy finish, there's something rather pleasing about the matte version that precedes the top layer being put on. For our part, we think that the home-made feel of the rough, unpolished finish works in its favor—but that is a matter for personal preference.
