According to hardware.fr the Radeon R9 Fury X2 is going to be delayed till the launch of the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive.

AMD has reported that the R9 Fury X2 will be released some time in 2016, but now it is safe to say it will be in Q2 of 2016. This is somewhat a good thing, they want to ensure that the Fury X2 is fully optimised for the best possible experience.

We know that the VR headsets are going to need some beefy graphics cards. Especially the Oculus Rift, that will need three USB 3.0 ports and a single USB 2 port. Along with that, the recommended video cards is a GTX 970 / AMD 290 or higher.

Let’s let AMD work a little longer on the Fury X2 so that we can enjoy the full VR experience with no hick ups.
