It was rumoured that we would see 12th gen in September of this year but it now seems we will only see the Alder-Lake S chips in November according to Wccftech. This would be the fastest architect upgrade in desktop history, with only 8 months between Rocket-Lake S and the new Alder-Lake S.

Alder-Lake S will be Intel’s first chips on the 10nm scale for desktops, it is also rumoured to feature DDR5 on the high end boards and PCIe 5. Intel expects a 20% performance increase for single-threaded applications and up to the twice as good multi-threaded performance.

This means that Intel might beat AMD to both these major performance upgrades on their new platform, LGA1700. The series will utilize Intel’s Hybrid Technology which makes use of a combination of high-efficiency and high-performance cores.
