New Intel Flagship GPU beat
Lately, we have been covering the Intel ARC GPUs quite a lot, and today is no different as we finally have some more leaked benchmarks to share. The mentioned benchmark was Geekbench 5, which isn’t a great way to see gaming performance though, so take this as you will. The DG2 GPU which is the flagship coming from Intel had a score of 85,448, which puts it close to a RTX2070. But in previous benchmarks, we have seen it beating the RTX 3070Ti. This flagship SKU apparently has up to 512 execution units and up to 16GB of GDDR6 memory, with a leaked clocked speed also showing a boost speed of 2.4GHz. These are all still just engineering samples so they are obviously still tweaking these cards and will only know the real performance once they launch.

2. Intel 13th Gen
A while back we talked about the new 13th Gen Raptor Lake CPUs from Intel, well we have a launch date now, kind of, in the Investor Meeting of 2022 Intel said that we can expect them by the end of Q3, so at the latest, it would be the end of September this year. Intel also mentioned that we would see up to double-digit performance increase, this could mean up to 15% single and 40% multi-threaded performance. The mobile versions are set to launch in the 4th quarter and if history is to repeat itself, that means new GPUs should launch simultaneously, it could be NVIDIA GPUs or Intel GPUs though.
3. Intel acquires AMD staff member
Intel has made another big step though, this time hiring Rohit Verma, the Senior Fellow and Lead Radeon Discrete GPU Architect of AMD Technologies. The almost nine years at AMD, he had influence in projects that researched discrete graphics card technologies for both desktop and portable systems, along with a larger scope in SoC architecture specializations utilizing CPUs, GPUs, fabric, power management, and most importantly, security. Now, he is the new Lead Product Architect of Discrete GPU SoCs at Intel, but it’s not his first time at Intel. Previously he had worked for Intel for 14 years as Intel’s Lead SoC Architect. Let’s hope he brings some new dynamics to intel and their GPUs.

4. AMD 680M beats MX450
Now for some AMD news, the AMD Radeon 680M RDNA iGPU apparently outperforms the MX450 GPU from Geforce. Now what makes this APU so impressive is that it actually has RayTracing, and it showed better performance in 3DMark Port Royal against the RTX3050 Laptop GPU. The main cause of that is because the 3050 only has 4GB of VRAM, which simply put, just isn’t enough for RayTracing. The Radeon 600M GPU offers better performance than both GeForce MX450 at 25W and Intels i7-11370H in 1080p tests. It cant take on the GTX 1650 Max-Q yet but it does offer the RayTracing which the GTX series does not. Not sure if you would be able to use the feature in games though but it’s something AMD can brag about.

5. Apple’s new line-up
Now some Apple news, apparently we are going to see a 13-inch MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, 24-inch iMac, and a redesigned MacBook Air, all of them fitted with the rumored M2 chip. Now nothing has been confirmed yet but the specs are rumored to have the same 8 core architecture as the M1 chip but the graphics cores are set to get bumped from seven or eight to nine or 10 cores. This will distance Apple even more from using Intel chips in the future and seeing how the M1 chips performed, the M2 chips will be quite interesting.

6. $1.7 Million NFTs hacked
Crypto attacks, we have covered them a couple of times on the news here, now it seems that the blockchain has yet again fallen victim to a cyberattack, this time 32 users have had their NFTs hacked. The attack happened on Saturday and 32 victims were tricked into signing a malicious payload that authorized the transfer of their NFTs. The amount of NFTs was worth a staggering $1.7 million. The attack happened when OpenSea was migrating to their new Wyvern smart contract system. OpenSea CEO said “We’re actively working with users whose items were stolen to narrow down a set of common websites that they interacted with that might have been responsible for the malicious signatures,” and on Sunday tweeted. “We’ll keep you updated as we learn more about the exact nature of the phishing attack.”

7. Doogee S98
Here at We Do Tech we like mobile phones and the innovation that goes into them. So this one piqued our interest, cause it has 2 screens and a Nightvision camera! The Doogee S98 is also rumored to have a new 6nm chip from Mediatek Code-named “Next-G”. Now some rumored specs for the phone is that it will have the Helio G96 SoC, 8GB RAM, 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, with microSD card support up to 512GB. For the cameras you get a 16MP selfie shooter and a triple camera system on the back consisting of 64MP primary, 8MP ultrawide and a 20MP Night Vision camera. The main display is a 6.3″ LCD with a FullHD+ resolution then on the back is the second circular display, which is rumored to support custom wallpapers and double up as a viewfinder, allowing you to take selfies with rear cameras. It will also have a 6000Mah battery and be IP68/69K dust and water-resistant.

8. Intel NUC 12 Extreme
Whoever comes up with the code names at Intel must be a very cool person, as the new Intel ‘NUC’ codenamed Dragon Canyons, specs have been leaked. It will feature up to an i9 12900 on the flagship model and another model is set to feature an i7 12700. As for graphics it will utilize the integrated Alder Lake Xe-LP graphics, allowing you as a consumer to connect dual-slot discrete GPUs. The NUC 12 Extreme will not use DDR5 memory but instead uses DDR4-3200 with 64GB of memory capacity. The new NUC does not come with memory when you buy it. But, tracking down DDR4 SODIMM memory modules is a bit easier than before at least. Pricing starts at $1500, which is rough seeing you don’t even get the memory or a GPU included.
9. New Dino Crisis?
Now, who remembers Dino Crysis? It was a seriously fun and thrilling game to play. And for some nostalgia, a fan has made a demo of a new Dino Crysis on unreal engine 4. This has made us just want a new Dino Crysis even more! But unfortunately, the developer that’s owned by Capcom has been completely dormant and no news has been confirmed about the next installment from them. But feel free to go check out the youtube footage and relive some of Dyno Crysis.
